Coccydynia is a condition where the nerves surrounding the tailbone or coccyx have been irritated – usually by a break or fall- resulting in chronic pain of the area. The condition usually becomes worse when sitting or lying on the tailbone.

The symptoms of coxodynia are chronic pain in the coccyx or tailbone, which becomes worse when sitting down or lying on the back.
